Visiting the Penn State Biomechanics Laboratory
The Biomechanics Laboratory is in 29 Recreation Building (“Rec Hall”). We are in the South Annex to Rec Hall, not the part with the main gym. Look for the small brick-paved parking lot off of Burrowes St. across from Waring Commons and enter through the glass double doors. Stay on the ground floor, go through another set of doors and 29 Rec Hall is on your left.

Biomechanics Laboratory is located in rooms 29-39 of the Recreation Building at the west entrance of Penn State’s University Park campus. See the map for more details.
From PA Route 26 (North & South):
From College Avenue (rt. 26) turn onto US 322 Business West (Atherton St.). Go through two lights and turn right at 3rd light onto Park Avenue. Go past the Nittany Lion Inn main entrance and take the next right. Park in the Nittany Parking Deck. Proceed through the rear of the parking deck and walk past Kern Building until you arrive at Curtin Rd. Turn right on Curtin Road and walk towards Rec Hall. The Biomechanics Lab is located on the far left side of the building (entrance under the overhang).
From US Route 322 (East & West):
Turn onto Park Avenue. Go past the Nittany Lion Inn main entrance and take the next right. Park in the Nittany Parking Deck. Proceed through the rear of the parking deck and walk past Kern Building until you arrive at Curtin Rd. Turn right on Curtin Road and walk towards Rec Hall. The Biomechanics Lab is located on the far left side of the building (entrance under the overhang).
Driving Directions to University Park Campus
Driving Directions to The Penn State Campus are provided from the Philadelphia Airport (PHL), the Pittsburgh Airport (PIT) and from the Baltimore/ Washington Airport (BWI).
From the Philadelphia International Airport Take I-95 S to Exit 7, I-476 N towards Plymouth Meeting, take the I-76 W Exit 6B, to Valley Forge, join the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take this to Exit 19 towards Harrisburg/Hershey, follow I-283 N, to I-83. Proceed to I-81 W and follow to US-322 W, take this through Lewistown to State College. Take the Park Avenue exit off US-322 onto campus.
From the Pittsburgh International Airport Take PA-60 S towards Pittsburgh, which becomes US 22 E/US 30 E, follow US 22, which joins I-279. Follow I-279 across the river and take I-376 E/US-22 E/US-30 E, Exit 8, and follow US-22 E/I-376 E. Proceed on US-22 towards Duncansville. Take I-99 N /US-220 N towards Altoona. At the end of I-99 turn onto US-220 proceed through Port Matilda. Then take US-322 E towards State College. Stay on US-322 and take the Park Avenue exit onto campus.
From the Baltimore/ Washington International Airport Take I-195 W to I-95 N Exit 4A, towards (I-695)/Baltimore, follow to I-695 W Exit 49B, I-695 N becomes I-695 E/I-83 N. Take the I-83 N Exit 24, towards York, PA. Follow I-83 N around Harrisburg to I-81 W and follow to US-322 W, proceed through Lewistown to State College. Take the Park Avenue exit off US-322 onto campus.
